A healthy body creates a healthy MIND & healthy MIND creates a healthy home.

Mind

Introduction

Hello everyone. My name is Lolita Denise, the creator of Cocoa Blu. I strongly believe that peace is one of the most important & most beneficial luxury, maybe even a birth-right, in this life. I also believe that peace comes from within. People, pets & certainly not material things bring it about nor support it once it’s found. I believe it can be cultivated & that it’s lost & found & then lost & found and then lost & found again. I believe the true source of peace is spiritual connection. My personal source is The God of The Bible. With that said, because I believe peace to be the foundation of a life of contentment, acceptance, & growth, I strive for it. I seek it out. And I do this through multiple ways...Mind, BODY, & Home. Also, because this (Cocoa Blu) is a way of peace, I’m not afraid to be selective about who I choose to take on as clients. Peace is absolutely worth protecting, for it pays in dividends.

This section is about the MIND. Although this section is about the MIND, all sections intersect. A healthy body creates a healthy MIND & a healthy MIND is a healthy home.

And these entries aren’t just for you guys. They’re for me as well. I’m on this journey with you, for there’s no finish line... only beautiful sights & sounds & experiences, along the way.

Welcome to Cocoa Blu.

Top 5 reasons why SLEEP is so important

Have you ever heard the saying “I’ll sleep when I die.” like death is but a form of sleep...or maybe it is...IDK. No one I know or have known-of have ever come back to tell me or anyone I know or known-of if that make sence. Anyway. All around the world people are dying from over-working/sleep deprivation. In Japan and other Asian countries there’s a name for it. Japan calls it Karoshi. In China, Guolaosi. While South Koreans call it Gwarosa. I call it Yeah Right. Over-working to the point of death?...yeah right. And here’s why as explained by the experts...

Adequate sleep is crucial for our overall well-being. Some top reasons to get adequate sleep include:

1. Physical & mental health: Sufficient sleep promotes a strong immune system, helps regulate hormones, & supports brain function. It can reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

2. Cognitive function & productivity: Getting enough sleep enhances cognitive abilities such as attention, concentration, decision-making, & problem-solving. It can improve memory consolidation and overall productivity in tasks.

3. Emotional well-being: Sleep plays a vital role in regulating emotions. When well-rested, we are better equipped to handle stress, maintain a stable mood, and have better emotional resilience.

4. Physical performance: Whether it’s athletic performance or everyday activities, sleep is essential for muscle recovery, coordination, and reaction time. It can enhance physical performance and reduce the risk of injuries.

5. Overall quality of life: Adequate sleep contributes to higher energy levels, improved focus, better mood, & overall quality of life. It allows us to function at our best and enjoy daily activities more fully.

It is generally recommended that adults aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. However, individual needs may vary. Prioritizing good sleep habits and creating a consistent sleep schedule can be beneficial.

In summary, I believe in sleep HUGE & BIG TIME.

P.S. I shoot for the stars... 9 hours of sleep that it.

How to create a daily Decompression ROUTINE in 5 easy steps

Decompressing from the stress of the day is sooooo important. It adds stress to a already stressful day (traffic, work, rude people, barking dogs, things that go bump in the night, etc.) when as soon as I walk into the house, someone is asking for something. Good Grief! Just give me 30 minutes to shed the day as much as i can within that short amount of time. Please & thank you. Sure! Thirty minutes isn't much, but it's something, & I'd be grateful to have it.

Here are 5 easy tips for creating & sticking to a stress-relieving/decompression routine as described by the experts:

1. Prioritize self-care: Make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine. Set aside dedicated time each day for activities that help you relax and recharge. Maybe it's a relaxing bath, reading a book, practicing mindfulness/meditation, or a hobby you enjoy. https://www.amazon.com/Joie-Parisians-Guide-Celebrating-Good/dp/0593236572

2. Choose activities you love: Find stress-relieving activities that resonate with you & bring you contentment. Experiment! Try going for a walk in nature, listening to calming music, stretching, or journaling. When you enjoy the activities, you're more likely to stick to your routine & experience their stress-relieving benefits. https://www.traveloffpath.com/top-8-off-the-beaten-path-things-to-do-in-orlando-florida/

3. Create a calming environment: Set up a dedicated space in your home where you can decompress and relax. Make it a peaceful & clutter-free area that promotes tranquility. Use soothing colors, incorporate soft lighting or candles, and add elements that help you unwind, such as comfortable seating or calming scents. https://cocoablu.com

4. Establish a regular schedule: Consistency is key when it comes to stress-relieving routines. Create a regular schedule & allocate specific time slots for your chosen activities. Treat it as an essential appointment with yourself. Whether it's daily, a few times per week, or on weekends, having a consistent routine helps to make it a habit.

5. Practice stress management techniques throughout the day: In addition to your dedicated decompression time, incorporate stress management techniques throughout the day. Take short breaks to stretch, breathe deeply, or engage in quick mindfulness exercises. These brief moments can help refresh your mind & relieve stress in the midst of a busy day.

Remember, taking care of your mental and emotional well-being is important. By prioritizing self-care, choosing activities you love, creating a calming environment, establishing a regular schedule, and practicing stress management throughout the day, you can create a stress-relieving routine that contributes to your overall well-being.

Why FAMILY GAME NIGHTS are a good move mentally

Let's plan a family game night. But first, why?

Here are the top 5 mental benefits of family game nights:

1. Cognitive Stimulation: Games promote critical thinking, problem-solving, & strategic planning. They provide mental challenges that enhance cognitive abilities & stimulate the brain.

2. Memory Improvement: Many games require players to remember rules, patterns, & previous moves. Regular participation in family game nights enhances memory function & improves the ability to retain & recall information.

3. Focus & Attention: Games demand concentration and the ability to pay attention to details. Engaging in family game nights improves focus & attention skills, which can benefit academic & professional performance.

4. Communication Skills: Games often involve verbal communication, negotiation, & explaining rules. Family game nights provide opportunities for practicing effective communication, improving language skills, & fostering social interaction.

5. Stress Reduction: Playing games, especially enjoyable ones, offers a form of relaxation & stress relief. Family game nights provide a fun & lighthearted environment that helps reduce stress & promote emotional well-being.

These are just a few of the mental benefits that family game nights can provide. Regularly engaging in these activities can have long-term positive effects on cognitive development, memory, attention, communication, & stress management for both children & adults.

But, my most favorite reason is, family game night is just plain FUN! A good time I say!
